These vises feature a unique rapid-action mechanism. To tighten the vise you turn the handle in the usual way but as soon as the handle is turned in the opposite direction, the screw is engaged and the front jaw slides freely. This design proves quite useful in a repetitive work situation for holding different size pieces. Manufactured from close grained grey cast iron with accurately machined housings for smooth sliding movement and true parallel action free of side or cross movement. Vise jaws are equipped with a toe-in feature such that when fully closed, the jaws meet only at the top to provide even clamping on the whole depth of the work piece. The steel main screw has Buttress threads for smooth, accurate and responsive adjustment.
